Why not Google Play?
Manhwa content can fall outside Google Play's strict content rules, even when it's legal and family-appropriate for the Myanmar audience. Direct distribution lets us push updates fast — no week-long Play Store reviews when a new chapter pack drops. It's the same way many regional apps distribute in Southeast Asia: through channels readers already trust.
Before you start
Make sure you have all three of these ready:
- An Android phone running Android 7.0 (Nougat) or newer.
- About 30 MB of free storage.
- A Telegram account (free at
t.me).
Step-by-step install
Follow these five steps in order. Each one usually takes 15–30 seconds.
- 1
Open our Telegram channel
- On your phone, open Telegram and go to
t.me/emscanschannel(or tap the button at the bottom of this page). - Look for the pinned post — that's where the latest APK lives.
Tip: If Telegram isn't installed yet, grab it from Google Play first, sign in with your phone number, then come back to this page.
- On your phone, open Telegram and go to
- 2
Download the APK
- Tap the APK file in the pinned post (it'll say something like
EMChannel-v1.0.1.apk). - Telegram downloads it to your phone's Downloads folder.
- Note the file size (~25 MB) and the SHA-256 hash printed in the post — both let you verify the file is genuine.
Tip: Wi-Fi works best for a clean download. On mobile data, a flaky signal can corrupt the file partway through.
- Tap the APK file in the pinned post (it'll say something like
- 3
Allow installs from this source
- When you open the APK, Android may say "For your security, your phone isn't allowed to install unknown apps from this source." That's normal — it's Android being cautious, not a sign something is wrong.
- Tap Settings in the dialog, then toggle Allow from this source ON for Telegram.
- On some Android versions:
Settings → Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps → Telegram → toggle on.
Tip: You only need to do this once. After that, Telegram is trusted as a source and future updates install without the warning.
- 4
Install
- Go back to the APK and tap Install.
- You'll see the permissions screen. EM Channel only requests: Internet, notifications, and storage (for caching pages). No contacts, no location, no SMS.
- Tap Done when the install finishes.
Tip: The install itself takes only a few seconds on most phones. If it hangs for longer than a minute, close the dialog and re-open the APK file from Downloads.
- 5
First launch
- Open EM Channel from your app drawer.
- Enable notifications when prompted — this is how you get instant alerts for new chapters.
- Browse the library and bookmark your first series.
Tip: Bookmarks are stored on-device, so you don't need an account. They stay with the app until you uninstall.
Is it safe?
Yes — and here's exactly why, point by point. We publish this in plain language because we want both readers and ad-network reviewers to be able to verify every claim.
Signed APK
Every release is signed with our developer key. Android verifies the signature on install — a tampered APK won't install over yours.
SHA-256 hash
Each Telegram release post includes the file's hash. Optional verification step: use a free hash checker app to confirm the download matches.
Minimal permissions
Internet, notifications, and storage caching. That's it — no contacts, no location, no SMS, no microphone, no camera.
No background tracking
Ads are loaded inside the reader, not in background services. When the app isn't open, it isn't talking to anyone.
Source transparency
See our Privacy Policy for full detail on the limited data we collect, why we collect it, and how long we keep it.
Updating to a new version
- We post new releases in the same Telegram channel.
- Repeat steps 2 and 4 — Android will detect it's an update and preserve your bookmarks.
- If a release ever changes its signing key, we'll announce that explicitly in the channel with migration instructions, so you're never surprised.
Uninstalling
Settings → Apps → EM Channel → Uninstall.
Bookmarks live on-device and are removed with the app. We have nothing to delete on
our side because nothing's stored there in the first place.
Troubleshooting
"Install blocked" persists
Re-check that Install unknown apps is enabled for Telegram specifically (not just globally) — Android tracks this per-app. Then close the install dialog, reopen the APK from Downloads, and try again.
"App not installed"
This usually means a corrupted download. Redownload the APK from the channel and verify the file size matches what's posted (around 25 MB). On a flaky network, switch to Wi-Fi and try again.
"Parse error"
The APK is built for a newer Android version than your phone runs. Update your Android OS if you can, or check the channel for a legacy build pinned for older devices.
No notifications
Go to Settings → Apps → EM Channel → Notifications
and enable all categories. Battery-saver modes on some phones (Xiaomi, Oppo) also
throttle background notifications — whitelist EM Channel in your battery settings.
Ready? Open the channel.
The latest APK, the SHA-256 hash, and every new chapter alert — all in one place.
